DEFINITIONS

  1. Community: A community is a self-organizing, interconnected group of people who unite around a shared vision or purpose. Communities thrive on authenticity, active member participation, and forming relationships that resonate with members’ self-perception. Incentives, identities, and interactions drive them. Communities prioritize collaboration, individual agency, and bottom-up innovation.
  2. Ecosystem: Business ecosystems are dynamic and co-evolving communities of diverse actors who create and capture new value through both collaboration and competition. They consist of organizations - large and small, young and old, public and private - that interact in tangled, changing relationships and that depend on one another for their success and survival.
